How To Age Gracefully?

Aging is a natural process, and it is inevitable. Fine lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin are the typical manifestations of aging in terms of physical appearance. In this article, let’s discover the recipe for better and healthy skin aging.

#1 The Key Component of Skin Firmness

The skin consists of two different layers: epidermis and dermis. The epidermis is the outer skin barrier that shields the skin from environmental hazards such as bacteria, ultraviolet (UV), and radiation. While dermis contains collagen, elastin, fibroblast, and hyaluronic acid, the key molecules that are crucial for the strength, elasticity and hydration of the skin.

#2 What Factors Age The Skin?

Wrinkles and sagging skin usually develop as we get older. This happens when the key molecules that help to maintain skin firmness and hydration begin to break down and lose elasticity.

Skin aging is caused by a combination of internal and external factors. The excessive facial expression, sun damage, smoking, dehydration, stress, insufficient sleep, medication, and environment can accelerate the aging process of the skin.

Fibroblast cells in the skin play a role in producing collagen and elastin, plus connecting them to form the skin structure and keep skin firm. When a person ages, the function of fibroblast cells declines. Thus, less collagen and elastin are produced, which leads to loss of skin tone and thinner skin.
With the addition of excessive sun exposure, it further ages the skin. Wrinkles commonly appear on the face, neck, arms, and back of hands where there is a higher exposure to ultraviolet (UV) from the sun. The UV light destroys the skin collagen and elastin fibers, which damages skin integrity. This causes the skin sags, followed by fine lines and wrinkles. Outdoor activities such as fishing, farming, playing golf, swimming, and cycling are more susceptible to skin aging.
Facial expressions like smiling, frowning, or squinting frequently can result in early wrinkling. The springing effects of skin decline when ages, and this leads to prominent grooves.
Heavy smoking can increase the rate of skin aging and causes dull complexion by reducing the blood supply to the skin. Alcohol tends to dry out the skin and cause wrinkles.

#3 Tips To Slow Skin Aging

Here are some tips to help you banish wrinkles and loose skin:

  • Protect skin from excessive sun exposure by wearing a hat, protective clothing, and sunscreen

  • Use a gentle cleanser and cleanse skin gently to remove cosmetic and impurities

  • Use a facial moisturizer daily to hydrate the skin

  • Stay hydrated

  • Consume foods high in antioxidants

  • Get adequate beauty sleep

  • Quit smoking or refrain from secondhand smoke

  • Limit alcohol consumption

Dietary Supplement

Healthy aging is mostly affected by the food we eat, the lifestyle we are living, and the toxins we are exposed to throughout our lifetime. Our health and age can be reflected in our skin as internal body issues will firstly show in the skin.

Oxidative stress can cause the generation of harmful free radicals that degrade skin collagen and cause wrinkles. As a person grows older, the body system becomes less well equipped to repair damages induced by oxidative stress. This can also occur when the body does not acquire sufficient antioxidants to neutralize the harmful free radical.

Besides skincare products, diet and dietary supplements high in antioxidants are crucial for skin health from the inside out. AG-FACTOR™ is a dietary supplement packed with bioactive Cysteine Peptide and antioxidant-rich ingredients.

Cysteine Peptides are able to boost collagen and glutathione production in the body, which improves skin texture and skin hydration level, make skin elastic and have a healthy, youthful appearance. Meanwhile, glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the collagen, hyaluronic acid and elastin from free radical damages, which enhance the skin moisture barrier and reduce the formation of wrinkles.

It’s time to slow down aging with AG-FACTOR™ and age better, both inside and out!
